Rosneft Oil: Orenburgneft Achieves Economic Effect of 176 Million Roubles from Energy Saving Programme
In 2021, Orenburgneft, an enterprise Rosneft Oil Company’s oil production complex, saved more than 52 million kWh of electricity through its energy saving programme. The economic gain amounted to 176 million roubles.
Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft’s strategy. The Company carries out consistent work aimed at sustainable utilization of energy resources and reduction of energy consumption, optimization of electrical and thermal loads in accordance with the requirements of international standard ISO 50001 “Energy Management System”.
Orenburgneft’s 2021 Energy Saving Programme included more than 1,300 measures to optimise operating regimes and introduce energy-efficient equipment at mechanised wells and surface infrastructure facilities.
The measures implemented at the mechanised well stock saved over 21 million kWh of electricity and over 71 million roubles.
The power consumption was also reduced through successful geological and technical measures to limit water inflows by curtailing the production of process water. The savings exceeded 6 million kWh, or 20 million roubles. More than 29 million roubles were saved through efficient management of the unprofitable well stock.
In 2021, the enterprise’s specialists upgraded the Zagorskaya integrated gas treatment unit (IGTU) and also commissioned a new and improved pump at the Rodinskaya cluster pumping station. The energy savings from those measures amounted to 4 million kWh, equivalent to 13 million roubles.
Furthermore, 840 light fixtures were replaced with energy-efficient LED lamps in 2021. Switching to cost-effective and environmentally friendly light sources at the field facilities and offices of Orenburgneft reduced electricity consumption by more than 390,000 kWh and 1.3 million roubles.
