Pertamina Patra Niaga, through Pertamina’s Sub Holding Commercial & Trading, continues to encourage Pertashop business partnership opportunities in Indonesia with various parties, including BUMDes, Cooperatives, Islamic Boarding Schools even businesses or MSMEs. It is expected to contribute to the country’s growth and development and encourage the economic empowerment of rural communities.

As an effort to encourage the spirit of Pertashop partners to achieve the best performance, Pertamina Patra Niaga awards the best Pertashop entrepreneurs, including Non-Partner MSMEs, the best sales figures, and the best facilities. The award was handed over directly by Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, with President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alfian Nasution, in Madiun on the National Socialization of the Pertashop Implementation Acceleration Program through the Collaboration of BUMN – BUMDes and other Business Entities for Indonesia Tangguh Indonesia Tumbuh, (6/2).

Erick Thohir explained that the 10,000 Pertashop units would have a significant impact on energy in the region as well as employment, especially for medium and regional entrepreneurs.

“We are currently still battling the Covid-19 Pandemic, both health and economy. I have given it to all SOEs, even though they are corporations, but they must balance alignments with the people. Through Pertashop Pertamina, we want to build a balanced economy. With these 10,000 Pertashops, will create jobs and improve the economy. In the future, we will prioritize attracting regional entrepreneurs to achieve this target, “said SOE Minister Erick.

President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga Alfian Nasution added that Pertashop is part of Pertamina One Village One Outlet (OVOO), where Pertamina wants to distribute energy that reaches a wider and more even distribution.

“Pertamina continues to present 10,000 Pertashops in 7,196 Subdistricts throughout Indonesia, and the presence of Pertashop is expected to facilitate energy access for rural communities, as well as drive the economy in villages so that people can immediately feel Pertamina’s presence. This is a form of fulfilling the Availability, Acceptability, Affordability, and Accessibility of Energy aspects,” explained Alfian.

From 2020 to January 2022, around 4,311 Pertashops have been operating throughout Indonesia, 473 are in East Java Province and 16 are in the city or district of Madiun. 249 Pertashops are also managed by strategic partners, with 54 (22%) operated by BUMDes.

However, Pertashop implementation has difficult challenges if only done by one party. “Therefore, assistance, support, and cooperation from various parties are needed, including through community empowerment at the village level,” he added.

Alfian hopes that Pertashop can develop a joint business with the village community to increase the economic value of community competitiveness and community productivity while bringing services closer to meeting the needs of fuel oil in the village.

“Pertashop will be present as a driving force for the village economy which will later be able to encourage economic growth for the national community and educate people to use environmentally friendly fuel. Even 12% of the total consumption of Pertamax as an environmentally friendly fuel that is distributed through Pertashop, “explained Alfian.

Meanwhile, in the remarks of the Governor of East Java, represented by the Head of the ESDM Office of East Java Province, Dr. Nurkholis, said that the Pertashop Program has great potential in the East Java region, which has at least 7,724 villages. In addition, Pertashop is also in line with the One Pesantren One Product (OPOP) program in East Java. “Through Pertashop, of course, we appreciate Pertamina, who has touched village institutions and Islamic boarding schools in East Java so that it is hoped that the OPOP program will run well,” said Nurkholis.
