On April 1 (Fri.), Mr. Hagiuda Koichi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, attended the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The IEA held an Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting on April 1 to discuss the possibility of another coordinated release of reserves, given the state of the global oil supply and oil market after the last release in March.
At the meeting, the IEA member countries agreed to a coordinated release of additional crude oil reserves in order to stabilize global oil markets.
