Rosseti FGC UES (PJSC FGC UES) together with the System Operator (JSC SO UES) implemented remote control at the 220 kV Stany distribution point in the Kaluga Region, from which the Ferzikovsky Cement Plant is powered. It is part of the international group LafargeHolcim and is a unique company involved in the disposal of solid household waste.

Remote control is implemented at new generation power facilities provided with digital communications and modern automation equipment. The introduction of the new technology makes it possible to reduce the time of operational switching in power plants by up to 10 times and reduce the risk of personnel errors.

Stany is the third high-voltage facility in the Kaluga Region that has been transferred to remote control. Earlier this technology began to be applied at the 220 kV Mirnaya and Sputnik substations.

The project makes it possible to improve the reliability of functioning and the quality of control of the electric power regime of the power system in the operating area of the Tula Regional Dispatch Office. In addition, the reliability of power supply to the key consumer of the 220 kV RPP “Stana” – Ferzikovsky Cement Plant will improve. Instead of natural gas, the furnaces of the enterprise use an alternative fuel – municipal solid waste. Thanks to this, the problem of waste disposal in the Kaluga region is being solved.
