Embracing the future of clean energy with a Hydrogen fuelled economy: MIT-WPU’s conference with noted global luminaries to be held tomorrow
Pune : MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU), a leading Indian university with over four decades of legacy in education is set to organise a conference on ‘Our common future in clean energy: Hydrogen economy’ amidst a stellar group of luminaries, on 12th October 2021 at 4 pm.
The event will be held at the hallowed premise of Swami Vivekananda Hall, MIT-WPU with Guest of Honour – H.E. Hans Jacob Frydenlund, Ambassador, Royal Norwegian Embassy; Chief Guest – Erik Solheim, Former Under-Secretary General, UN & Former Executive – Director, UNEP; Special Invitee – Arne Jan Flolo, Consul General, Royal Norwegian Embassy and Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad, Founder President, MIT World Peace University.
The event has been organised by TERRE Policy Centre and will feature a special theme address by Dr Rajendra Shende, Chairman, TERRE Policy Centre & Former Director, UNEP.
As a University, MIT-WPU is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It has joined hands with TERRE Policy Centre through its Smart Campus Cloud Network (SCCN), as part of the Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) engaged in localising the UN SDGs in its campuses. Through this association, MIT-WPU is committed to Carbon Neutrality, titled ‘Nor Zero-Net-Zero’.
MIT-WPU, as part of Hydrogen Economy Research Network of HEIs, would supplement and complement the activities of Centre of Excellence on Hydrogen (CoE-H) to develop clean energy and carry out technology and policy research in Green, Gray and Blue Hydrogen. The announcement of initiating such network and collaboration between Universities in Norway and India will support India’s and Norway’s efforts of streamlining the Hydrogen economy/energy in the society, which will be made by the HE Ambassador of Norway during the press conference in Pune on 12th October 2021.
Keeping in mind the current situation, the event has been developed and will be managed as per government regulations for COVID-19 protocols and only 30 students from MIT-WPU and few delegates from TERRE Policy Centre will be allowed to attend the event, maintaining social distancing norms.
