Australian Government, Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources: Grants for environmental game changers

Seven grants have been awarded through the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme – Accelerating Commercialisation. The programme is administered by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.

2021 grant recipients include:

Sea Forest, with a unique method for farming asparagopsis algae. The algae is proven to have profound effects on emissions and also results in faster growing and healthier livestock. Sea Forest received a $1M grant.
UPowr, which offers Australia’s only end-to-end service for households looking to install solar and batteries. UPowr received a $493,746 grant.
This year’s other grant-awarded companies and projects are:

Monsoon Aquatics

Aquaculture system for coral. $304,058 grant.

Phyllome

Production of AI and robotics for indoor precision agriculture. $196,500 grant.

Real Thing Entertainment

Speech based AI technology for enterprises assisting vision-impaired people. $1M grant.

Kintell

1-to-1 video knowledge-sharing platform for organisations. $557,250 grant.

Agscent

Bovine pregnancy breath-sensing device. $600,000 grant.

Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, the Hon Karen Andrews MP said, ‘Through this latest funding, we’re backing projects that will improve agricultural processes and reduce greenhouse emissions, all while growing a developing industry that will create jobs.

‘Not only do these business ideas strengthen our economy, they are examples of Australian ingenuity helping make the world a better place.’
