Boosting Australia’s diesel storage

8

The Boosting Australia’s Diesel Storage Program opens on 11 January 2021.

Diesel is crucial to Australia’s energy security. Storing more diesel in Australia will increase our resilience to supply disruptions, helping protect consumers and the economy from fuel shortages.

The Australian Government will provide up to $200 million in competitive grants to support the construction of an additional 780 megalitres of diesel storage in Australia.

Successful projects will receive grants of up to $33.3 million. The Government will cover up to 50% of eligible project costs with industry matching the funding.

The program will run over 3 years to 2023–24. Projects are expected to start construction in mid-2021 and be completed within 3 years.
