On November 29, the 3rd China-Russia Energy Business Forum was held online and offline in Beijing and Moscow. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulatory letters to the Forum respectively. Han Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony, read the congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech. Igor Sechin, Executive Secretary of the Russian Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security, as well as the President of Rosneft, attended the opening ceremony, read President Putin’s congratulatory letter, delivered his speech, and presented the Atlas of Russian-Chinese Energy Cooperation Investments. Yury Ivanovich Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation was also present at the ceremony. Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, attended and addressed the event. Dai Houliang, Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), attended and addressed the ceremony as well.
At the Forum, representatives from more than 120 Chinese and Russian institutions and enterprises that work in energy, finance and scientific research discussed topics including the outlook of strategic cooperation, cutting-edge technologies and financing cooperation. The forum was hosted by CNPC and co-hosted by Rosneft, with the National Energy Administration of China and the Russian Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security serving as governmental coordinators. Huang Yongzhang, Vice President of CNPC, also attended the event.
