Ecopetrol: Ecopetrol increases 7 points in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

According to the measurement of the S&P Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) that determines participation in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), published today, Ecopetrol obtained 75 points out of 100, improving 7 points compared to the 2021 measurement

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is one of the most internationally recognized indices for evaluating management in the environmental, social, economic and corporate governance dimensions. More than 10,000 companies in the world, from 61 industry sectors, participate in the evaluation and it has become a world reference in good sustainability practices for investors and other interest groups.

Ecopetrol made outstanding progress in the Economic and Governance dimension, in which it obtained 78/100 points, with an improvement of 13 points compared to the previous year, with a record of 100/100 in the chapters on Materiality and Business Ethics . The score improved in 7 of the 8 chapters of this dimension.

The Social dimension is also highlighted, in which the company obtained 84/100 points, 15 points more than in 2021 and obtained 100/100 points in the Social Report and Citizenship and Corporate Philanthropy chapters. An improvement was reported in 8 of the 10 chapters of this dimension.

In the environmental dimension, the Company obtained 64/100 points. Of the 7 chapters that have the environmental dimension, the Company improved in 3 (Policies and Environmental Management Systems, Operational Coefficiency and Biodiversity) and remained in 2 (Risks Related to Water and Environmental Report in which it obtained 100/100).

The Company’s position in the ranking, as well as its inclusion in one or more of the indices, will be determined at the end of the year when S&P has evaluated all the participating companies in the sector.
