Eskom: Supply to Ritchie interrupted after storm leads to structural damage

12

A storm that swept through Ritchie in the evening of Wednesday, 17 March 2021, has resulted in a loss of supply to this Northern Cape town.

A number of electrical structures were damaged by the strong winds. Eskom’s technical teams are working non-stop to restore supply as soon as possible; however, customers should be prepared to be without electricity until Saturday, 20 March 2021, due to the extent of the damage to poles and other infrastructure.

Eskom apologises for the inconvenience and assures customers that the repairs are being attended to with the required urgency.

During the supply interruption period, electricity users are urged to treat all electrical lines, sockets and appliances as live and dangerous.
