Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, today, Tuesday (27/7) inaugurated the Deputy for Planning at the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) Benny Lubiantara. With the appointment of Benny, Arifin hopes that the leadership of SKK Migas can be strengthened with various breakthroughs and strategic steps.

“We congratulate Benny Lubiantara, for the trust given to you by the leadership. We hope that you can strengthen the ranks of the SKK Migas leadership by making breakthroughs and strategic steps that can improve SKK Migas’ performance, by prioritizing integrity according to the oath of office and the integrity pact that you have said,” said Arifin in his remarks at the ESDM Ministry Office.

To SKK Migas, Arifin advised SKK Migas to maintain the level of national oil and gas production. Among them is overseeing the transfer of management of the Rokan Work Area from PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) to PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR).

“To maintain the level of national oil and gas production, I have a special message that the transfer of management of the Rokan Work Area which will occur on August 8, 2021 from PT. CPI to PT. Pertamina Hulu Rokan to be properly guarded so that the transfer of management process can run smoothly without disturbing the production level. oil in this block,” said Arifin.

The year 2021, according to Arifin, is a very challenging year for the oil and gas sector, including the challenges in achieving upstream oil and gas targets, namely oil and gas production and lifting.

“As an illustration, the achievement of oil lifting was 666.6 thousand barrels of oil per day, or 94.6% of the APBN target set for this year of 705 thousand BOPD, while gas lifting was 5,430 MMSCFD of the APBN target of 5,638 MMSCFD or achieved 96 .3%,” he explained.

In the midst of the challenges faced, it turns out that the oil and gas sector is still able to make a fairly good contribution to state finances. It was noted, during the first semester of 2021, state revenues in the upstream oil and gas sector reached around USD 6.67 billion or equivalent to Rp. 96.7 trillion.

“This amount of revenue is 91.7% of the target set out in the 2021 State Budget,” said Arifin.

The positive value in state revenues was none other than the result of the increase in world oil prices which also boosted the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP). The ICP in June 2021 was recorded at US$ 70.23/barrel, while the average ICP for January-30 June 2021 was USD 62.42/barrel. (DKD)
