Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif presented awards to the winners of the Energy Savings Competition for the Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The LHE assessment team has determined the top six winners of the competition, which was participated by 24 buildings from 9 echelon I units of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and BPH Migas.

“I congratulate the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), the Center for Human Resources Development (PPSDM) for Electricity and EBTKE, and PPSDM Oil and Gas for their achievements which have won 1st, 2nd, and 2nd place winners. 3,” said Arifin, Tuesday (17/8).

This award is held to increase awareness and active participation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources work unit on the need to implement energy efficiency and conservation, energy management, and innovation in the context of energy efficiency in buildings.

“In addition, the implementation of energy conservation is a real step and commitment from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in efforts to reduce carbon emissions towards Net Zero Emission, which provides benefits, including saving energy costs,” added Arifin.

On the same occasion, Director General of EBTKE Dadan Kusdiana conveyed the purpose of implementing LHE, namely to give appreciation and appreciation for the success of the best efforts to implement energy efficiency.

“In addition, it is also an effort to realize energy-efficient office buildings in the ESDM environment, as well as an example for energy-efficient buildings in agencies, both Central and Regional Governments,” said Dadan.

The winner of this competition, he continued, is expected to become a model for energy-efficient buildings and be assisted and guided to participate in higher-level awards.

“The winner of this competition is expected to become a model for energy-efficient buildings and will also be assisted and then guided to participate in the 2021 Energy Efficiency Subroto award in various categories, and is expected to be the winner and represent Indonesia at the 2022 ASEAN Energy Awards,” he said.

At the end of his speech, Arifin hoped that LHE could continue to be implemented in the coming years by improving the assessment criteria in order to obtain optimal results. Arifin also wants the energy-saving culture that has been implemented in the office to be brought home.

“I hope that in the coming years this activity can continue to be carried out, continue to be improved, especially the assessment criteria, so that we can produce the most optimal results. Hopefully the implementation of the energy-saving competition can be a momentum to encourage the application of energy efficiency in all office buildings and In addition, we can bring this culture to our homes where we can apply it in our respective homes. Hopefully this activity will continue to grow and we can use it as an example for others, “he said.

For information, the assessment of the competition was carried out by 13 jury consisting of internal members of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dharma Wanita of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Academics, Professionals, and Development Partners which resulted in the top 6, in the following order.

The evaluation criteria for LHE Office Building of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources include:

Energy management implementation
Energy efficiency technical implementation which includes passive design, active design, and also the use of renewable energy, as well as waste or waste management
