Indonesia Energy Ministry: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Conducts First Gas In for Cirebon City Jargas
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has officially carried out the main distribution or gas in the City Gas Network (Jargas) in Cirebon City, West Java. The gas-in, which is being implemented in sector 6, Kalijaga Urban Village, is a penetrating gas pipeline construction and will be built as many as 71 house connections (SR) in this sector. For Kalijaga Village, a total of 1,210 SR will be built.
In 2021, Cirebon City will receive 4,515 SR jargas and 3,758 SR for Cirebon Regency. The completion of the Cirebon City and Cirebon Regency gas pipeline construction is targeted to be completed in November 2021.
The success of jargas construction during the Covid-19 pandemic, of course, cannot be separated from the support of the Regional Government and the local community. “Local government support is already 50% of success. And vice versa, if there is no support from the local government it is 50% of failure,” said Director of Planning and Development of Oil and Gas Infrastructure Noor Arifin Muhamad in Cirebon, Monday (26/7).
Furthermore, Arifin said, the main thing in infrastructure development is spatial planning in a city or area. If the City of Cirebon has a gas gas development master plan, a business entity such as PT PGN can build a gas network independently based on the capacity of the community.
“Of course we have to work hand in hand between the implementers and the local government. We are very grateful for the local government’s support so far,” he added.
Responding to Arifin, the Regional Assistant for the Economy and Development of the City of Cirebon, Sumanto, expressed his gratitude for the construction of jargas for its citizens. “Everything we do is for the benefit of the community. That must be prioritized,” said Sumanto.
On the same occasion, PT PGN’s Cirebon Sales Area Manager, Mahmuri, said that PT PGN received an assignment from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the management of gas lines and was ready for development for people whose houses had not yet been installed.
“We ask for support from the Regional Government and the Directorate General of Oil and Gas of course so that the program runs smoothly. We express our appreciation because the construction of the gas jargas in Cirebon is the fastest compared to other places. This is of course due to the very strong support of the Regional Government,” he said.
For information, the construction of gas grids in Cirebon City in 2021 is a development program, because previously there was an existing city gas network using the APBN as much as 4,000 SR which was built in 2012 and 3,503 SR in 2018. The management of the existing city gas network is operated by PT. PGN.
The source of gas supply for Cirebon City and Cirebon Regency comes from Pertamina EP. As for the allocation, for Cirebon City as many as 4,515 SR covering 12 sectors spread over the Kecapi, Kalijaga and Argasunya Villages which are penetrating, and Argasunya and Harjamukti Villages which are developmental. For the construction of gas lines in Cirebon Regency, there are 3, 758 SRs, covering the Klayan Village, Jatimerta and Astana Village areas, all of which are developmental.
Currently, the progress of gas line construction in the City has reached 73.2%, in Cirebon Regency at 72.3%, and TKDN 52.75%. The implementation of the construction of this jargas construction for the city of Cirebon has absorbed a workforce of 320 people and 335 people for the Cirebon Regency. (AFB/TW/DKD)
