For the fifth time, for five years in a row, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) won an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the ESDM Ministry’s Financial Statement Examination Report, despite facing various challenges due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid) pandemic. -19).

“We are grateful to be able to maintain this WTP opinion for the fifth time, in the midst of all the limitations due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif at the Submission of the Examination Report of the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) on the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources’ Financial Statements and Financial Statements. These results were obtained because the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has always been guided by the Government’s accounting standards and related legal products. In preparing financial reports, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources always pays attention to aspects of conformity with Government Accounting Standards (SAP), adequate disclosure in accordance with those stipulated in SAP, compliance with laws and regulations, and the effectiveness of the Internal Control System (SPI).

“By paying attention to these aspects, we have maintained the quality of the financial reports that we have compiled so that they can be presented properly, far from material misstatements, and comply with the relevant laws and regulations,” said Arifin.


BPK RI has also submitted the concept of the audit report as a reference for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in making corrections to the audit of financial statements and corrective steps in future financial administration accountability. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has responded to the recommendations of BPK RI on the financial statements by submitting responses and action plans to the Concept of the Examination Results of BPK RI on the Financial Reports of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

“We as auditees agree with the findings of the audit and will implement recommendations from BPK RI to improve our management and financial reporting going forward. I express my gratitude and highest appreciation for the good cooperation, as well as suggestions and recommendations for improvements that have been made. Mrs. Member IV of BPK RI and the Examining Team conveyed that during the audit process,” continued Arifin.

In the future, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will improve the financial recording system by utilizing technology. In addition, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will also increase synergy with BPK RI to create timely and quality data access.

“Of course we continue to appreciate this record as high as possible, because this will improve us going forward, as mandated by law in managing the state budget,” said Arifin.

Arifin also gave instructions to all officials and staff of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to be able to maintain the opinion of the WTP and continue to make efforts to improve good organizational governance.

“I also thank and instruct Echelon I and II officials, along with their staff to be able to maintain the WTP opinion that we have achieved, and continue to make efforts to improve good organizational governance and improve the quality of financial reporting,” concluded Arifin. (DKD)
