JA SOLAR: JA Solar Launches DeepBlue 3.0 Light Tailored for Distributed Solar PV Market

114

On March 26, at the 16th China (Jinan) Solar Utilization Convention and Exhibition (“SUCE”), JA Solar launched its DeepBlue 3.0 Light high-efficiency module tailored for commercial and residential rooftop solar systems in the global market. The mass production power of the module is up to 415W, and it has successfully passed certification testing conducted by TÜV SÜD to the standards for IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certification.

In May 2020, JA Solar launched the DeepBlue 3.0 module based on 182mm x 182mm wafers ( known as “182 modules”) and started mass production in August. Since its first delivery of a shipment to the global market in October, the product has been widely recognized by the industry and global customers. Considering production, transportation, installation, system compatibility, and the actual performance of the entire industry chain, DeepBlue 3.0 series modules are designed with the advantages of multiple high-efficiency and low-degradation technologies, including the new-generation PERC high-efficiency cell technology PERCIUM+, and Ga-doped silicon wafers, which gives the product great performance in reliability, conversion efficiency, and power generation, among others, which reflects a design mindset of “customer-oriented, to achieve optimal LCOE “.

Dr. Xinwei Niu, Member of the Board and Executive President of JA Solar, said, “As distributed photovoltaic enters the era of grid parity, the market demand for high-efficiency distributed modules is more urgent. Since its launch last year, DeepBlue 3.0 is highly recognized and accepted in the global market. The launch of DeepBlue 3.0 Light will further promote the application of high-efficiency PV products and bring higher profits to distributed PV users globally.”

The DeepBlue 3.0 Light module inherits all the benefits of DeepBlue 3.0 while taking into account the practical characteristics of both commercial and residential rooftop PV projects, providing customers with greater installation capacity, lower BOS costs and higher investment returns. DeepBlue 3.0 Light modules have a mass production efficiency of higher than 21.3%, providing higher power per unit area and per unit weight, higher roof utilization rate and load-bearing capability. Following the design mindset of “reasonable size and weight, reasonable electrical parameters”, DeepBlue 3.0 Light modules, due to their relatively low voltage value, have a larger number of single-string modules compared with other distributed modules, which can effectively reduce BOS costs. For example, on a 13m*5m pitched roof (with a 30° angle), DeepBlue 3.0 Light modules have the largest installation capacity and the highest capacity-to-load ratio compared to other 400W modules applied in distributed PV projects, increasing clients’ revenue by around 5%-10%.
