Recently, JinkoSolar, as a representative of PV companies, was awarded the “Sustainability Awards 2022 Outstanding Enterprise” at the first Sustainable Development Officer Summit for Listed Companies organized by Ernst & Young, after a comprehensive assessment by an expert jury on corporate innovation, carbon emission reduction, ecological and environmental protection, social responsibility performance, governance enhancement, demonstration promotion, investment, and financing system. This is a recognition of JinkoSolar’s excellent practices in the areas of sustainability and ESG.

As the world’s first solar company to join the RE100, JinkoSolar has achieved 100% green power usage in three of its plants this year, with the overall percentage of green power exceeding 51.3%. At the end of 2021, JinkoSolar joined the Science-Based Carbon Targeting Initiative (SBTi), committing to set scientific emission reduction targets to achieve “net zero emissions by 2050”. “. In the same year, JinkoSolar joined the United Nations Global Compact and in 2022 joined the Climate Ambition Accelerator (CAA) program to continue to support the Sustainable Development Goals and the 10 principles of the United Nations Global Compact.

In addition, to improve the overall module efficiency of the industry and reduce energy consumption per watt of production, JinkoSolar is continuously accelerating the development and commercialization of high-power and high-efficiency N-type PV modules. 182 N-type TOPCon cell technology and advanced module packaging technology have recently achieved a conversion efficiency of 23.86% in large-sized PV modules of 2m2 or more. At the same time, we are committed to accelerating research into new and recyclable materials, reducing material consumption, “light” and “thin” production, for example, by reducing wafer thickness, reducing silver paste consumption without sacrificing quality and reliability, and optimizing processes to save energy.

In addition to its own green energy operations, JinkoSolar also has well-developed supplier management standards, incorporating sustainable sourcing concepts into all aspects of supply chain management and driving the supply chain’s commitment to use 100% renewable energy in both parties’ related operations.

Photovoltaics, one of the world’s fairest and most economical sources of energy, is a key component of JinkoSolar’s global energy strategy,” said Dany Qian, Vice President of JinkoSolar. JinkoSolar is committed to contributing to sustainable development, driven by PV, by re-examining its business and operating models from an ESG perspective, to provide green, affordable and equitable solar energy for everyone, and to create a sustainable future.”
