Minister Lee Chang-yang attends Shin-Hanul 1 Completion Ceremony

Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Lee Chang-yang attended the Shin-Hanul 1 completion ceremony in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province, on December 14 with local residents and domestic and overseas nuclear industry personnel.

Minister Lee read the congratulatory message on President Yoon Suk-yeol’s behalf, stating that “safety comes foremost in nuclear power plant operation, and safe operation is the stepping stone to earning public trust and power plant exports,” and awarded 12 persons for their contribution to the industry development, including the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit presented to Park Bum-soo, head of the Hanul Nuclear Power Division for his work in Shin-Hanul trial run management and local community communication.

The event was attended by approximately 500 persons, including National Assembly members, Government officials, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) personnel and local residents.
