Motie: 2nd Vice Minister attends Pyeongtaek Hydrogen Base Completion Ceremony

Trade, Industry and Energy 2nd Vice Minister Park Il-jun attended the Pyeongtaek Hydrogen Production Base Completion Ceremony on July 27 at the Asan National Industrial Complex to congratulate the construction completion of the hydrogen plant.

In his congratulatory message, the Vice Minister stated that the Pyeongtaek facilities will become the central force in “ushering in the hydrogen economy into the metropolitan area” and added that “the Ministry plans to introduce a clean hydrogen certification program to nurture South Korea into the world’s number one hydrogen powerhouse.” The Pyeongtaek plant can generate up to seven tons of hydrogen per day, which fuels 430,000 vehicles per year.

The ceremony was attended by relevant National Assembly members and other representatives, including Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-sun, and Korea Gas Technology Corporation Cho Yong-don.
