Energy Vice Minister Park Ki-young attended the Chungju bio-hydrogen refueling station completion ceremony on March 30 to commemorate the launching of Korea’s first biogas hydrogen charging facilities.
The Chungju hydrogen refueling facilities are equipped to fuel hydrogen cars and will also serve as a mother station by delivering tube trailers to other hydrogen stations. The station utilizes biogas generated from the nearby Chungju Food Bio Energy Center to produce hydrogen. In his congratulatory message, Vice Minister Park stated that “the Ministry will continue to support the localization of core parts required for building the station, achieving 100% domestic production by 2030 and working to reduce construction costs.” The Minister also participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and refueling demonstration.
The event was attended by national assembly member Lee Jong-bae, Chungju Deputy Mayor Kim Doo-hwan, and KETEP (Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning) President Kweon Ki-yeoung.
