Trade, Industry, and Energy Minister Moon Sung-wook visited the Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH) in Naju-si, South Jeolla Province on March 2 to award government commendations and attend the entrance and vision declaration ceremony.
KENTECH is a newly founded technology university and Korea’s first global university solely focused on areas of energy research and technology. The school’s vision is to “nurture global leaders in future energy research and advance into the top 10 technology universities tier in the world.” Minister Moon awarded government commendations to four persons of merit for their outstanding contributions to the institution’s establishment.
National assembly members Song Young-gil and Shin Jung-hoon attended the event, as well as Presidential Committee for Balanced National Development Chairman Kim Sa-yeol, South Jeolla Province Governor Kim Yung-rok, Naju Mayor Kang In-kyu, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) President Cheong Seung-il, and KENTECH President Yoon Eui-joon, among 200 persons in total, including the KENTECH freshmen.
