Nikolay Shulginov and Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siyjarto discussed cooperation in the gas and nuclear fields
Moscow:Nikolay Shulginov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Siyjarto.
The parties discussed the interaction between Russia and Hungary in the fuel and energy sector. Nikolay Shulginov emphasized that the fuel and energy complex occupies a special place in bilateral trade and economic relations. One of the central topics of the conversation was cooperation in the gas sector, including in the context of the further development of gas transmission systems in the countries of South-Eastern Europe. At the same time, the parties stated their interest in continuing gas supplies from Russia to Hungary on a long-term basis.
The ministers also touched upon cooperation in the atomic sphere and, in particular, the project for the expansion of the Paks NPP.
Energy cooperation between the two countries is receiving constant attention within the framework of the Russian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission, the 13th meeting of which was held on November 27, 2020 in Budapest.
