The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted that “PDVSA reached one million barrels of oil per day in December 2021 with national investment and thanks to the efforts of its workers.” He also set a new goal for the year 2022 to increase production to 2 million barrels per day.


During the Annual Message before the National Assembly, on the occasion of the delivery of the 2021 Report and Account, the Head of State issued instructions to the Sector Vice President of Economy and Minister of People’s Power of Petroleum, Tareck El Aissami, to “end the mafias of the sale and distribution of fuel that prevent the normalization of the service for the people”.


He strongly denounced the coercive measures illegally and unilaterally imposed by the US government. “Why is Venezuela prohibited from exporting oil, selling oil and buying all the necessary inputs and spare parts to produce oil, to produce gasoline, to produce diesel? Why is Venezuela prohibited from its economic freedom, its commercial freedom?


President Maduro ratified that with the progressive recovery of the processes in PDVSA, all the fundamental projects of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of America, ALBA-TCP, and Petrocaribe, which will sail the Caribbean seas again to carry services to sister nations.

“We have come out to defend the oil market, the stability of the world economy and the need for a fair price for world oil and we have achieved it, congratulations,” said the National President.


He also greeted the new Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, the Kuwaiti, Haitham Al-Ghais, and sent his best wishes to the outgoing secretary, Mohammed Barkindo.


During his speech, the president, Nicolás Maduro, stated that “the people want to be part of the solution to the problem of gas, water and gasoline distribution” and therefore their proposals must be taken into account by the competent authorities. .
