Pemex: PEMEX Begins Rehabilitation Work at the Regional Hospital in Villahermosa

Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) reports that, after evacuating the Regional Hospital in Villahermosa because of torrential rain caused by cold front number nine that hit the south-east of the country, the facilities are now empty and guarded by PEMEX Strategic Safeguard personnel.

Meanwhile, the necessary reconstruction and maintenance work has begun, in order to restore the hospital to normal working conditions, and the flooded areas of the hospital are currently being pumped.

Petróleos Mexicanos Healthcare Services personnel is currently monitoring the condition of the patients who were evacuated to various other healthcare facilities in the region. 44 patients were hospitalized at the time, and as of today, 100% have been evacuated from the Regional Hospital.

Patients hospitalized at the Regional Hospital were evacuated to the following healthcare facilities: PEMEX Hospitals in Comalcalco, Paraíso and Ciudad PEMEX; as well as to the Social Security Institute of the State of Tabasco (Instituto de Seguridad Social del Estado de Tabasco, ISSET) facilities, such as the Doctor Maximiliano Dorantes, Doctor Rodolfo Nieto Padrón, and Doctor Juan Graham Casasús hospitals.

Regular service at the Regional Hospital will be reestablished as soon as weather conditions allow, and the affected facilities are cleaned and disinfected.

Therefore, the company’s Healthcare Services personnel will continue prioritizing the detailed follow-up on the condition of the evacuated patients at the various hospitals they are now hospitalized in.
