The number of PT Pertamina (Persero) upgraded fostered MSEs increases significantly until the end of 2021. From that program, 556 partners passed the program from four classes. Namely, the Go Modern class 25 MSEs, Go Digital 323 MSEs, Go Online 154 MSEs, and Go Global 54 MSEs.

The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir, appreciated Pertamina’s brilliant achievement in his speech at the 2021 Pertamina UMK Academy Graduation on December 16, 2021. “We also congratulate and appreciate PT Pertamina (Persero) on the UMK Academy activity in 2021, which has succeeded in upgrading 556 fostered. In addition, the efforts in fostering fostered MSEs throughout Indonesia should be supported,” he said.

Erick also advised Pertamina to continue consistently supporting the increase in MSE productivity. Therefore, it can make the MSEs independent and superior. “We hope that Pertamina can continue to support MSMEs to become strong and independent, in line with the mission of SOEs through the UMK Funding Program. Lastly, continue to support local MSME products and support the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement!” he emphasized.

Pertamina collaborated with several parties to make this event a success. These include the MarkPlus Institute, the Ministry of Trade, the Indonesian Intellectual Property Rights Consultation Institute (LKHI), Blibli.com, Sucofindo, the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM), and Tour & Travel Partners (MTT).

On the same occasion, the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, congratulated the 556 MSEs that had upgraded through the UMK Academy event. According to her, these MSEs deserve to upgrade after attending intensive training and mentoring for six months of the activity.

“In addition to being held with educational nuances, we also organize this activity as a gathering place for Pertamina’s fostered partners. So that they can support each other’s business activities, and support each other to move forward and make Indonesian MSMEs more widely known to foreign countries,” said Nicke.

The hundreds of MSEs were declared upgraded after successfully meeting the criteria, including an increase in the number of employees, an increase in loan value, an increase in production capacity, an increase in turnover, involving the surrounding community to produce products, marketing products outside the city/country, obtaining national/international certificates. “They (the fostered MSEs) have met at least two of these criteria,” she added.

One of the MSEs who have passed the Pertamina UMK Academy 2021 program is Raudhina Rahma. The owner of this Renone Batik business is grateful to be one of the 2021 UMK Academy participants who have graduated. “I have learned a lot since I first joined this program in June 2021. Thank you, Pertamina,” she said.

Suparman also voiced the same sentiment. The cattle and duck agricultural business has been upgraded to Go Modern MSE. Thanks to the guidance from Pertamina, his business was able to further develop by expanding its marketing area and followed by an increase in turnover. “Hopefully, similar activities will continue in the following years and can help more MSEs,” he said.
