PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Subholding Commercial & Trading Pertamina, readjusted non-subsidized fuel prices or general fuel types (JBU). The new prices are valid by January 3, 2023, at 14.00 WIB. It was conveyed directly by the Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, on Tuesday (3/1) morning.

“Today, the Pertamax price will be adjusted from IDR 13,900 per liter to IDR 12,800. Coordination and process are needed with various stakeholders to make price adjustments because Pertamina has a broad business from upstream to downstream, unlike a company that only manages five petrol stations. It is needed because the government must support the people’s economy,” Erick said during a survey at one of the Pertamina gas stations on Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta.

For gasoline, Pertamax (RON 92) is adjusted to IDR 12,800 per liter from IDR 13,900 previously. Pertamax Turbo (RON 98 is adjusted to IDR 14,050 per liter. It is lower from the previous price of IDR 15,200 since the last adjustment on December 1, 2022.

Further, the gas oil (diesel) product, such as Dexlite (CN 51), was adjusted to IDR 16,150 per liter. It is lower from the previous price of IDR 18,300. Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex (CN 53) underwent adjustments to IDR 16,750 per liter from the previous IDR 18,800. This new price applies to provinces with a motor vehicle fuel tax (PBBKB) of 5%, such as in the DKI Jakarta area.

Erick explained that the non-subsidized fuel price fluctuates, so it is evaluated regularly following market trends and mechanisms. Pertamina makes price adjustments following the world oil prices trend and the average oil publications prices.

“Essentially, the non-subsidized fuel price should be the market price. However, to prove that the government is present, through the previous policy when world oil prices were high, the government asked Pertamina not keep the prices. Therefore, when the world oil price is at the level of USD 79 per barrel, together with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Minister of Finance, and the President Director of Pertamina finally held a meeting to project and determine the new fuel price to the public,” Erick added.

The new price by January 3, 2022, is in accordance with the pricing stipulated in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 as an amendment to Ministerial Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 regarding the price formulation for JBU or non-subsidized fuel.

President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said Pertamina is fully committed to providing and distributing fuel based on the Availability, Accessibility, Affordability, Acceptability, and Sustainability principles.

“Through Pertamina Patra Niaga Commercial & Trading Subholding, we are committed to providing quality fuel products principles throughout Indonesia. Not only in big cities but all over the country, with competitive prices,” Nicke said.

Besides that, the President Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alfian Nasution, added his party also gave appreciation and benefits to Pertamina consumers who use quality fuel products such as Pertamax and Dex Series.

“Until January 8, 2023, specifically for purchasing Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex, and Dexlite products with a minimum of 200 thousand rupiahs using the MyPertamina application with the LinkAja payment method, consumers have the opportunity to get cashback balances up to ten thousand rupiahs,” Alfian added.
