At the 2021 Pertamina SMEXPO ShowCase, Pertamina won the MURI record for the category of Most Women’s MSME Empowerment Through Digital Stores. The award was delivered directly by the General Chairperson of MURI, Jaya Suprana, and received by the Finance Director of Pertamina, Emma Sri Martini, on Friday, October 15, 2021.

Acting Senior Vice President (SVP) Corporate Communication and Investor Relations (CCIR) of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fajriyah Usman, said Pertamina as one of the largest SOEs in Indonesia has an important role to actively participate in providing guidance and assistance to small entrepreneurs, cooperatives and the community as stated in the UU BUMN No. 19 of 2003.

“Pertamina has distributed business capital and guidance to fostered MSMEs since 1993, and has distributed partnership assistance to more than 65,000 fostered partners throughout Indonesia, spread from Sabang to Merauke,” said Fajriyah.

In the framework of continuing to support women MSME actors, Pertamina and the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI) and the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) will collaborate to expand the Pinky Movement Program to more than 30 thousand Indonesian women entrepreneurs who are members of IWAPI.

The Pinky Movement program targets IWAPI members throughout Indonesia who have LPG outlet units in the trade sector and MSME units using LPG in the culinary, industrial, and other sectors. This program includes low-cost financing and coaching to increase competence. Therefore, IWAPI members can become upgraded MSMEs. Of course, by fulfilling several criteria, including increasing production capacity, obtaining business certificates and permits, increasing turnover, and marketing products to other regions or countries.

This collaboration, continued Fajriyah, implements Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) eighth goal, namely providing Decent Work and supporting National Economic Growth, and the fifth SDGs, namely achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. This collaboration is also part of Pertamina’s ESG commitment, especially the social aspect through the empowerment of micro and small businesses.
