PT Pertamina (Persero), through Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut), ensures that the fuel supply is sufficient amidst the increasing demand. Acting Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Agustiawan, ensure that the Bio Solar and Pertalite supply were sufficient to meet the needs in the North Sumatra Province.
“We keep coordinating and monitoring the fuel distribution in the field. We make sure that the fuel distribution for the people in North Sumatra Province runs smoothly and safely. We note that there has been an increase in Bio-Solar and Pertalite fuel consumption due to increasing community mobility and improved pandemic conditions Covid-19,” Agustiawan explained.
Until July 2022, Bio Solar (Subsidized) consumption in North Sumatra Province has reached 66% of the total annual distribution quota. The Bio Solar daily average consumption in North Sumatra Province reached 3,377 KL/day, which increased compared to July 2021 of 3,036 KL/day (Yoy).
Specifically for Pertalite products, until July 2022, it reached 71% of the total annual distribution quota. The average daily consumption in North Sumatra Province reached 4,606 KL/day, an increase compared to July 2021 of 3,528 KL/day (Yoy).
“The lasting bio-diesel stocks at the Medan Group Integrated Terminal are very good, reaching 18 days. People do not need to worry because the figure does not include the current stock in refineries and ships,” Agustiawan added.
Pertamina always ensures that the fuel supply aligned with the increasing economic activities in the North Sumatra Province. Education and socialization related to right on target fuel and according to its designation. Subsidized diesel users have been regulated in Presidential Regulation no. 191 of 2014. The maximum purchase rules for subsidized diesel have also been regulated through the Decree of the Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) No. 04/P3JBT/BPH Migas/Kom/2020. In addition, based on the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 37.K/HK.02/MEM.M/2022, Pertalite products are designated as a special assignment type of fuel or JBKP.
Strict Sanctions for Misusing Subsidized Fuel
Related to the various law enforcement officials and relevant stakeholders’ efforts in controlling subsidized fuel misuse, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut expresses its gratitude and highest appreciation for the efforts made.
“We hope the public could buy fuel according to the designation and vehicle specification. So, subsidized fuel can be accessed by people in need according to the applicable regulations,” Agustiawan explained.
In addition to criminal sanctions, Pertamina has set sanctions for channeling institutions proven to sell/misuse subsidized fuel that is not on target, in the form of suspensions and distribution termination for subsidized products according to a certain timeline until termination of cooperation.
