Pertamina: Pertamina Supports MSMEs Post-Covid-19 Recovery Acceleration

PT Pertamina (Persero), collaborating with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan, is supporting efforts to accelerate MSMEs recovery. Thus, they rise from the post-Covid-19 slump that has hit since early 2020 through the National Movement for Proudly Made in Indonesia or Gernas BBI.

“Pertamina, as a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) in Indonesia, has given guidance to more than 66 thousand MSME Partners throughout the country to support MSMEs rise. Thus, providing a multiplier effect for improving the community and the nation’s welfare,” said the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, in her speech at the Gernas BBI 2022 South Kalimantan peak event delivered online on Friday (22/7).

Nicke added that through Gernas BBI, Pertamina supported MSMEs to accelerate recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. “We believe that various Gernas BBI activities series can help MSMEs promote their superior products and build motivation for MSME actors to survive, continue to develop, and upgrade. Therefore, their products can be known at the national level and internationally,” she said.

Changes in consumer behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic pushes MSME actors to innovate by utilizing digital platforms. Social media existence must be utilized to make MSME actors easier in providing information and interact directly with consumers, expand market share, increase awareness, and increase sales. One of them is through Gernas BBI 2022 in South Kalimantan as a promotional and campaign event for South Kalimantan SMEs to be known by foreign countries.

Since 2020, through the MSE Funding program and Rumah BUMN, Pertamina has held nearly 1,000 online training activities, both through social media and webinars, with more than 36 thousand participants in total. Pertamina consistently fosters MSEs to upgrade by conducting coaching according to the Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global curriculum.

“With the “Energizing You and Energizing Indonesia” spirit, Pertamina invites everyone to increase awareness in loving and buying Indonesian products and being proud to use local products,” she conveyed.

Pertamina also continues to support the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) achievement through the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance)-based programs implementation in all its operational areas. It is part of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to realize economic benefits in the community.
