PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Refinery Unit VI Balongan won the Dharma Karya Energy and Mineral Resources award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia thanks to product diversification of Gas Oil For Anti Foam (Go Foam) innovation generated by the Project Team Collaboration Improvement (PC Prove Go Foam) RU 6.

The award was handed over directly by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, to the Section Head Refinery Planning RU VI, Astri Agustiana Sari, who was present to represent Pertamina RU VI, as well as PC, Prove Go Foam facilitator, Tuesday (4/10/2022) at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office.

This Dharma Karya Muda award is the first award achieved by Pertamina RU VI Balongan. This award is given to SOEs and private companies that have the potential to develop innovations in the energy and mineral resources sectors and benefit other parties.

The Go Foam product diversification innovation produced from this CDU unit can increase the company’s positioning in the special chemical market and also increase the company’s margins.

The product called Go Foam is utilized for reducing and inhibiting foam formation in industrial processes.

President Director of PT KPI, Taufik Adityawarman, appreciated the Pertamina Refinery officers, including Pertamina RU VI Balongan officers who succeeded in making the Go Foam product innovation.

Taufik said that the innovations carried out by Pertamina Balongan Refinery officers were the company’s efforts to increase competitiveness to survive the changing times.

“The innovation culture must be made into a habit by all workers. Because without innovation, it can make us lose competitiveness and die,” said Taufik.

Therefore, Taufik stated that company leaders must pay attention to the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) activity, which is an arena for sharing knowledge and innovation of Pertamina’s employees.

Taufik also said that the products by the Pertamina refinery, including those in Balongan, both in the form of fuel and existing chemical products as well as new products from innovations, must be ensured to have gone through laboratory tests. Thus, the products follow the specifications recommended by the government.

“We are grateful for this innovation, especially when we won an award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Indeed, it is hoped to provide motivation and benefits to many parties, and we do not forget to say thank you to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources,” said Taufik.
