The future of healthcare will be shaped by artificial intelligence, unlocking the potential of informatics and shifting to the cloud, according to Philips CEO Frans van Houten.
Talking on the HIMSS Changemaker podcast, van Houten discussed how digital technologies were already transforming healthcare, but also emphasized their untapped potential.
“Data science is still in its infancy for healthcare, and therefore it’s still a promise to be unlocked,” he said. “Providers realize they need to embrace data as the next era of change.”
He also discussed Philips’ transformation into a leading health technology company and how the pandemic has been a catalyst for improving healthcare systems.
