Representing Indonesia in the Special Submission Category, PGE Wins Award at the ASEAN Energy Awards

PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) again received an award for its innovation in carrying out CSR activities, this time through the “Geotato” program at the 2020 Asean Energy Awards. The first winner award was won by PGE in the ASEAN Energy Renewable category The Energy Best Practice awards for the Special Submission sub-category are PGE’s CSR program in the Kamojang area.
This award at the level of the ASEAN region was given in the series of implementation of the 38th ASEAN Minister on Energy Meeting in Da Nang, Vietnam. Present virtually received the Pth award. President Director of PGE, Eko Agung Bramantyo on Thursday night (19/11) local time.
“This award is an extraordinary appreciation for Pertamina Geothermal Energy in developing new and renewable energy that is environmentally friendly in Indonesia. PGE has a high commitment to always carry out geothermal management activities professionally by prioritizing environmentally friendly aspects and empowering the surrounding community. We would like to express our highest appreciation to the Asean Center for Energy for giving this award, “said Eko.
PGE is the only company in Indonesia that has successfully entered and received an award in the special submission category for the successful development of the Geothermal Potato innovation program. Where this program is able to help potato farmers in the process of sterilizing potato seed planting media more efficiently. With this Geotato program, the use of firewood in the sterilization process of potato seed planting is replaced with geothermal steam which is more environmentally friendly.
This innovation program was developed by PGE workers in the Kamojang Area who are always committed to geothermal development that prioritizes environmental sustainability.
The progress of PGE Kamojang Area in environmental sustainability has also been proven by the achievement of PROPER GOLD which was achieved 9 times in a row.
PGE Kamojang Area as a pioneer in geothermal development in Indonesia has been operating for 38 years. The installed capacity was originally 30 MW in 1983, now it has reached 235 MW.
There are 5 PLTP units currently operating in the Kamojang Area. currently has an installed capacity of 235 MW in 1983 and currently manages 14 Work Areas with a total installed capacity of 672 MW (Own Operation) and 1,205 MW (Joint Operation) and has won PROPER Gold 9 times in a row since 2011 Kamojang area has 5 PLTP units currently operating in Kab. Bandung West Java.*
