Rosneft’s office has been awarded BREEAM In-Use International Standard Certificate for the second year in a row
The office and laboratory complex of Research and Development Center (part of the Rosneft Group) has again been assigned the status of a Green Office, confirmed by the BREEAM In-Use certificate.
Experts from BREEAM, one of the most respected international organisations for assessing the environmental performance of buildings, have awarded the Rosneft building on Leninsky Prospekt in Moscow the Excellent* level, an improvement on last year. Currently, only about ten buildings in Russia have a BREEAM In-Use certificate with the Excellent level.
The certificate attests to the high level of performance of the building, its energy efficiency, rational use of electricity, heat and water resources, and a comfortable and safe working environment for employees.
The improved score was made possible by the increased involvement of R&D centre staff in Green Office activities and the continued introduction of innovative energy-saving technologies in the building. This included the installation of water purification units, specialised software and sensors for detecting water and freon leaks, and mobile space alteration elements to improve the functionality of individual rooms.
Responsible attitude towards the environment is an integral part of the Company’s corporate culture and one of the core principles of its business. Confirming its commitment to the UN sustainable development goals, Rosneft reduces its environmental footprint both in the implementation of new projects and in the course of ongoing operations and applies best practices for minimizing its impact on ecosystems.
