The main guidelines for planning the development of the energy infrastructure are the reliability of electricity supply to consumers and the removal of barriers to the development of the Russian economy and industry, said Evgeny Grabchak at the Federation Council roundtable “Modernization of the energy infrastructure in the Russian Federation”.

“The target of the Ministry of Energy when planning infrastructure development is the reliability and safety of energy supply to end consumers. All our targeted programs and efforts to work with companies are primarily related to making energy resources available, ”he said.

The deputy minister added that the fuel and energy complex is one of the areas, on the stable functioning of which the well-being of citizens and the economy as a whole depends. “In this aspect, we set ourselves the task of removing infrastructural restrictions and barriers to the development of the economy and industry,” Yevgeny Grabchak emphasized.

Measures designed to ensure the solution of strategic tasks are reflected in the Comprehensive Plan for the modernization and expansion of the trunk infrastructure, many of them are already being implemented, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy recalled.

In particular, we are talking about the development of the energy infrastructure to ensure the expansion of the throughput capacity of the Eastern range of Russian Railways, the possibility of operating in an isolated mode of the Kaliningrad energy system, strengthening the connection between the energy system of the South and the energy system of the Crimean Peninsula.

Yevgeny Grabchak also said that this year the measures for the construction of the Kola-Karelian energy transit will end, the Chaun-Bilibino energy center is being modernized in Chukotka, and it is also planned to update the layout of nuclear and hydroelectric power plants by the end of 2021.
