UAE Energy: H.E Suhail Al Mazrouei Stresses The Strengthening Of The Urban Planning System And Providing An Advanced Infrastructure

His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, confirmed that the Ministry, represented by the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, has devoted a lot of discussions, held partnerships, and launched qualitative initiatives and ambitious action plans for the next fifty years, with the aim of strengthening the urban planning system, providing advanced infrastructure and sustainable government housing that attains happiness for the citizens and their quality of life in implementation of the directives of the UAE government under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “May God preserve him” and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, May God protect him,” and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses, the members of the Supreme Council of the Union, rulers of the UAE.

In a statement on the occasion of the World Habitat Day, which is celebrated on the first Monday of October, His Excellency pointed out that the housing projects targeted by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure fall within the urban development plan for the next fifty years and support the infrastructure system; and the state’s directions towards providing a decent life for the citizens, stressing that the sustainable housing, which aims to achieve what meets the expectations and hopes of the citizen family, is our goal and is a pivotal issue that deserves our diligent work, concerted efforts and joint cooperation to transform the future plans and strategies into real work programs for a bright future for the sons and daughters of the UAE.

His Excellency made it clear that providing adequate housing is on the list of the priorities of the wise leadership in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “May God preserve him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Forces Armed Forces, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during the current year, has ordered the disbursement of the housing loans and exempted the deceased and low-income retirees from paying the dues of housing loans with a total value of 2.21 billion dirhams, benefiting 1656 citizens in the emirate, which constitutes an addition to the housing benefits packages that were provided to the citizens last year, as the year 2020 has witnessed the announcement of lofty directives to issue three payments, which included granting residential land, housing loans and housing, in addition to exempting retired and deceased citizens with a value of 15.5 billion dirhams, of which 13,626 citizens have benefited from it.

His Excellency said: “Being the human being and enhancing the quality of life and family stability are the focus of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, May God protect him, His Highness recently approved a historic housing budget of 65 billion dirhams for the next twenty years for the citizens of the Emirate of Dubai, His Highness directed to quadruple the number of beneficiaries of the housing program in Dubai starting this year, and to double the lands allocated for housing the citizens in Dubai to reach one billion seven hundred million square feet, sufficient to meet the needs of the citizens for the next twenty years.

It is noteworthy that the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure continues its achievements since its establishment in 1999 it has issued more than 74,504 housing support decisions with a value of more than 41 billion dirhams, covering all the regions of the country, and distributed between loans and grants, and varied between building new housing, housing completion, housing maintenance, and making addition to the house, purchasing of a housing and government housing and, and the fulfillment of a loan. The program has also delivered 35,455 housing units to the beneficiaries.

The Ministry is currently following up the implementation of 11,103 housing units in the various emirates of the country, and continues the path of qualitative and ambitious achievements despite the exceptional circumstances that the whole world is going through, as the number of housing units that have been delivered to beneficiaries reached 2,538 during the year 2020, while 1,726 housing were allocated in 3 emirates of Dubai, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah during the current year.
