Pertamina – IWAPI (Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association) collaborates to encourage women’s MSMEs to advance in the global arena.

The Pertamina – IWAPI collaboration was manifested in the signing of an agreement between Corporate Secretary of Pertamina, Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, and DPP Chairperson of the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Association (IWAPI), Dyah Anita Prihapsari, witnessed by President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati and Finance Director of Pertamina, Emma Sri Martini, in Jakarta, Friday, October 15, 2021.

President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, emphasized that Pertamina has fostered approximately 63 thousand MSMEs. Of this number, around 22 thousand MSMEs are managed by women entrepreneurs.

“Cooperation with IWAPI is very appropriate in assisting, starting from skill improvement, opening marketing to funding,” said Nicke.

Nicke added that currently, the percentage of Pertamina’s fostered female SMEs is around 33 percent. Pertamina will increase the composition of women’s MSMEs to 47.2 percent, following national standards. For this reason, cooperation with IWAPI, which has more than 30 thousand women entrepreneurs, will support this target.

“We did upgrading starting from Go modern, Go digital, Go online, Go global. This stage is what we do in detail specifically for women to the level of Go global,” added Nicke.

According to Nicke, the increase in women’s MSMEs follows the Ministry of SOE’s program, including at Pertamina, where there is a program to improve women’s leadership within SOE. It is also in line with SDGs number 5 regarding gender equality.

Pertamina, continued Nicke, has the responsibility to provide training, mentoring, and opportunities. Therefore, women can get the same opportunities.

“We do this for everyone’s benefit. We must create inclusiveness. Therefore, there is no longer gender difference, and we believe this is the best for Pertamina, for SOE, and our nation,” said Nicke.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the IWAPI DPP, Dyah Anita Prihapsari, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for Pertamina’s support.

According to her, the presence of Pertamina is very helpful for SMEs in the country.
