Russia Ministry of Energy: Nikolay Shulginov gave the command to launch the Ust-Khantayskaya HPP in Norilsk after modernization

Nikolai Shulginov, in the presence of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, gave the command online to launch the Ust-Khantayskaya HPP of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel after modernization.

“The modernization made it possible to increase the capacity and efficiency of the station, and most importantly, to increase the reliability of the operation of both the hydroelectric power station itself and the energy system of the region. The specialists worked in the harsh climatic conditions of the Arctic, at the operating facility. We used unique technologies and equipment made by domestic producers, ”the Minister emphasized.

Since 2012, seven hydraulic units have been completely replaced at Ust-Khantayskaya HPP. In the course of the modernization, the powerhouse and electrical shop of the station were reconstructed, a new compressor station was built, and a new automated dispatch control system was created.

Investments in the modernization of generating equipment amounted to about 7.5 billion rubles. The design capacity of the power facility is now 511 MW with an annual output of 2.4 billion kWh.
