Russia Ministry of Energy: Nikolay Shulginov: “The upcoming heating season will be difficult, you need to be ready for this”

Nikolay Shulginov chaired a meeting of the Government Commission for Ensuring the Safety of Electricity Supply (federal headquarters) to prepare the subjects of the electric power industry of the Siberian Federal District for the heating season of 2021-2022.

During the meeting, the Minister noted the work of energy companies in adverse weather conditions.

“Even in spite of the rather difficult situation with floods and fires that the regions of Siberia are facing, the energy companies are working out everything in a regular mode. The disconnections of consumers that arose under the influence of weather anomalies were eliminated as soon as possible, ”Nikolai Shulginov said.

Also, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Russia spoke about the work being done in terms of improving the regulatory framework. Thus, changes have been developed in the methodology for assessing the readiness of companies to work in the autumn-winter period, the use of which will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers.

“The upcoming heating season will be difficult. The grid complex will experience non-design loads. You need to be prepared for this. Hydroelectric power plants will be loaded higher than in the previous AWP in preparation for the next flood period, which will also be difficult, ”the Minister said.

In turn, the chairman of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Yuri Lapshin, during the meeting stressed that the region is actively preparing for the autumn-winter period, weekly meetings are held with municipalities and resource supplying organizations, and the delivery of fuel resources to the remote northern regions is under special control.
